Staff Developer Application

The 2009 Summer Institute Staff Developer application process is now open. If you are interested in applying or know of someone that would like to apply, please refer to the criteria for assignment and application instructions below. The application deadline is December 19, 2008.   

The Staff Developer position is highly prestigious and we at AVID Center pride ourselves in the selection process. Once the online applications are received, we will diligently assess the qualifications of each applicant.

Please read the criteria for assignment below prior to beginning the application.

Criteria for Assignment:

To meet our criteria for hiring staff developers to co-lead the 2009 Summer Institute strands, you must:

• exhibit effective experience leading AVID professional development
• be recommended by a  Divisional/State/Regional/District Director
• work at an active AVID certified site/district
• exemplify strong site team leadership
• be available for Institutes needing strand leaders in areas of expertise
• provide a balance of local, regional and divisional representation
• work well in a coaching model

Application Instructions: 

1. Login to your MyAVID account at https://www.avidonline.org/login  (If you do not have a MyAVID account, please contact avidinfo@avidcenter.org.  If you have misplaced or forgotten your password you can click on "I forgot my password" and your password will be mailed to the email address we currently have associated with your MyAVID account.)
2. Once you have logged in, click on the link titled “AVID Staff Developer Application” under MyAVID Tools. 
3. In the left margin, click on “My Application” to access the application.    
4. Complete the online application by following the on-screen instructions. 
5. Once the application is complete, you will receive an email regarding your submission.

Recommendation Instructions: 

The recommendation process is now electronic. Once the applicant has submitted references on their application, a notification email will automatically be sent to those individuals. Referred individuals will login to MyAVID and submit their recommendation online. Detailed instructions on how to submit the recommendation will be included in the email from AVID Center.
